For those of you who have not heard his intimate chat with Chris Anderson, curator of TED, in the The TED interview podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-ted wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-ted wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The TED Interview: Ray Kurzweil on what the future holds next\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.ted.com\/talks\/lang\/en\/the_ted_interview_ray_kurzweil_on_what_the_future_holds_next\" sandbox=\"allow-popups allow-scripts allow-same-origin\" width=\"810\" height=\"456\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>Ray Kurzweil on what the future holds next<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For starters, it was frank, Ray said that his pills intake has reduced from 250 ( 2005) to 100 ( 2018), spoke on the 147 predictions made in his book \u2018The Age of the Spiritual Machines\u2019 (1997), the fact that nearly 86% have come true and the balance 14% are directionally correct but off the mark by a few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His prediction &#8211; machines taking away jobs would be moot as most countries will offer UBI for a comfortable living and people will focus on purpose not livelihood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also talks about the creation of synthetic neocortex \u201d\u2026we will connect the top layers of our neocortex to synthetic neocortex in the cloud.And just like two million years ago, we will put that additional neocortex at the top of the neocortical hierarchy\u2026\u2026If you then do the math, we will expand our intelligence a billion fold by 2045.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are scenarios to wipe out every disease and aging process with these medical nanorobots.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ray predicts medical nanorobots will go inside the body  and extend the immune system. He touches upon reprogramming the genetic processes and the immune system through immunotherapy. We are headed towards \u201c\u2026\u2019longevity escape velocity\u2019, where you are adding more time than is going by, \u2026to your remaining life expectancy. I believe that will happen for diligent people in the developed world in about a decade, I actually feel I\u2019m there.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Listening to Ray Kurzweil is always fascinating.
