Most of the time it appears.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Susan Shain<\/strong>\u00a0in her wonderfully titled piece\u00a0<strong><em>How to, Maybe, Be Less Indecisive (or Not)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in The New York Times quotes from authors\u00a0<strong>Dr. Barry Schwartz<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<em>The Paradox of Choice<\/em>,\u00a0<strong>Sheena Iyengar<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<em>The Art of Choosing<\/em>,\u00a0<strong>Greg McKeown<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<em>Essentialism<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Tim Urban\u00a0<\/strong>and his blog\u00a0<em>Wait but Why<\/em>,\u00a0outlines five ways to get out of limbo and enjoy what you do. These include &#8211;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go for good enough &#8211; most choices are good. Just go for what is good enough.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Outsource your decisions &#8211; Want to choose a wine, trust your local wine shop to recommend.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Employ the \u201890 Percent Rule\u2019 &#8211; Anything that you are not 90% sure you want to do, drop it.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Create thought experiments &#8211; Imagine the post decision life. You will know if the indecision is to avoid the awkwardness of the communication and immediate fallout.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Remember it\u2019s just a dot &#8211; Tim Urban says: \u201c<em>Referencing Steve Jobs\u2019s famous line that you can&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/news.stanford.edu\/2005\/06\/14\/jobs-061505\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>connect the dots only looking backward<\/em><\/a><em>, Mr. Urban urged anyone frozen by indecision to simply pick a \u201cgood next dot,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;saying,&nbsp;<em>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t have to be perfect \u2014 it\u2019s just a dot along the way.\u201d<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting the basics sorted can help us with being happier.
