Hacking Team,  the infamous Italian company which was exposed after wide scaled human rights abuse using its technology and tools like RCS has now reemerged as Memento Labs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>It is not what and how Hacker team and now &#8216;Memento Labs&#8217; did for regimes in Egypt (during the Arab Springs), Sudan, Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia. It is that p[rime targets worldwide are Human rights activists and Journalists. The issue is that products like KRAIT \u201c&#8230;are designed to silently infect and invisibly surveil even \u2018paranoid targets\u2019 who might have a high level of digital security awareness,\u201d Says Bill Marczak \u201c&#8230;a researcher at the University of Toronto\u2019s Citizen Lab who led early research into Hacking Team. \u201cThese products are a match made in heaven for human rights abusers, who are looking for tools to attack an increasingly vigilant civil society.\u201c <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"455\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.pitch.link\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/21111056\/333-1024x575.jpeg?resize=810%2C455&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Illustration from article.
