Pricing your SAAS is easy. Just follow the per user/per month formula and build multiple levels based on truncated product or cascading features (higher you pay more you get). According to people who know, SAAS and SAAS pricing it is time to rethink this approach.
Anne Raimondi (Board Member, SendGrid), for one, in her podcast with Harry Stebbings of Saastr talks about “.. every pricing page and packaging is all starting to blur together and look the same. I would love to see some unique, out-there different takes on pricing….Pricing is complex, but I think if you just take what someone else is doing, again, like you miss out on having some interesting conversations with your customers and prospects around real value creation that you are providing..”.
We have been thinking a lot about pricing at Pitch.Link. For starters pricing need to be based on usage. Thats value exchange. Also I have strong feeling about tiered pricing that is fundamentally linked to feature sets. Companies like Clearbit allow users to pick and choose feature sets and pay accordingly. That is one way. Pricing thinking will be super crucial in the next phase of SAAS growth.
