I have been pondering about it for a while. We know we need to talk to target customers as soon as we can, but we don’t. We know we need to track key metrics – but we don’t. We know we need to reach out to mentors and founders who have been there and done that – we don’t. We know we need to engage with the press and basically invest in marketing (time, not necessarily money) but we don’t.
But Why?
How many books, blogs, videos, webinars and events have you attended, watched, read? How many notes were made – and how many followed? Why or Why not?
I have been searching before I tried to come up with a hypothesis. I found this article by Shreya Dalela in Medium – and she put the number one reason as fear. Followed by the need to be perfect, your need to follow a routine and not wanting to break your self defined momentum, lack of planning, seeking validation et all. There are a thousand reasons why things will not work. Make a list of those that will and carry that with you – recommends Shreya.
Check out her post. It just may spur you onto something you have been meaning to do for a long time.
