I have about 60 folders. 22 Favourites. How many mails are in your inbox? How many mails come in each day and how many are critical ? How may do you look at partially and revisit many times. How many distributed amongst multiple mail ids you have – which you thought would help manage your inbox?
Like Tabs in a browser, inbox is an enigma. Right. Here is a super simple solution Zachary Hanlon wrote about in 2017 in Fast Company. Replace your theme from subject based folder system to a deadline based one.
Inbox, Today, This week, This month, and FYI.
It could have simultaneous projects and you will have a similar structure for all. Inbox is exactly what it is and mails should promptly be shifted to one of the other 4 folders. Fix time to attend to the weekly and monthly folders during the week/day. ‘FYI’ are informational and those you think you may need to reference again. The article itself has some stories that provide clarity and you may like to read it. Should not take more than 5 minutes.
Seems logical. Would take me a while to shift things around. Will keep you posted on how it is working for me.
