I did this test. Close your eyes and think of something you are planning to do. Say ‘Get more sales’. The mind trudges towards “how” first, and then possibly as a part of the how, “who”. What about you?
Benjamin Hardy, one I have gone to several times over the course of the year and referred to at least 3 times here while writing this ‘Self’ focused post, now 50 + times this year. He has written about just this. He writes – “Rather than looking for OTHERS to work with, kids are taught to compete against others and look for right answers. There is basically zero training on developing mentorships, collaborations, partnerships, teamwork, and leadership.”
He continues to pose a bunch of questions around WHO and they suddenly open up new ways of looking at goals and ambitions:
– WHO do you want to learn from?
– WHO is already doing what you want to be doing?
– WHO is where you want to be?
Like most of his posts, this is a long and easy read, sometimes wide in its approach, but the core is right here.
Think ‘Who’ in 2020, instead of ‘How’.
