David Cummings writes mostly short pointed posts which I find thought provoking. A post last month was on how a simple question “How did you come up with the idea for your company?” mostly get meandering uninteresting unmemorable responses.
I found this highly insightful. My personal experience has been that more than 95% people I meet – irrespective of setting or geography, at some point in our conversation asks the exact same question.
The Origin Story for PitchLink will go something like this :
‘We built great products but struggled with sales. People, process, prospecting and finally closing a deal were all challenges. Seems it was true for most companies. No wonder Martech now has 7000 products and salestech nearly 1000. We wished someone would take away the challenges of a standardized narrative being delivered without any of the typical transactional frictions. Finally we built PitchLink to solve all these connected problems around a single link.’ (Draft 3.0)
I intend to refine it to make it more interesting. What is your Origin story. David Cummings has written one for Tech Village. You can find it in his post.
